Comment by Shirley Anderson LOL, Dottie....reminds me of that T-Rex song, I Love To Boogie.Glad it helped you get your groove back! I gotta try that. I'm going out later this week, maybe I'll try it and see if it does the same for me.
Comment by Dottie1 I did the "Baby Boomer Boogie" at the Beatlejuice concert last night. That definately made me look and feel younger.

Comment by Shirley Anderson OopsDottie - we take pride in making people silly! It's our little way of giving back, and contributing to the emotional health of others. How're we doing?Well, considering Ringo married someone else, I don't feel guilty in the slightest. Thank-you for keeping the secret, but if it should slip out while you're talking to him, it serves him right.

Comment by BeatsMe Hi Shirley, thanks for answering my questions. ;)
Comment by Shirley Anderson Hi BeatsMe:Baby boomers were born between 1946-64ish. After the end of the second world war, the soldiers came home after being gone a long time....you get the picture. Once the pill came along, the birth numbers started declining.I'm afraid I don't know if any other continent besides North America uses the term. You realize that these questions mark you as a youngster.....I'm going to have to start using this technique so no one will guess that I'm a boomer. :)
Comment by BeatsMe Uh. Baby boomers sound familiar to me, but I dont' know what that means. When were they born? And why are they called baby boomers? Which countries use that?
Comment by Shirley Anderson Actually, PJDScott, I didn't know about strawberries being significant either, until I recently read an article that mentioned it. I think any fruit is good, but blueberries (my favourite :)) are especially good because of their anti-oxidant properties. Thx for commenting!
Comment by pjdscott I like the chocolate tip! A very educational hub - I do try anad eat 5 pieces of fruit per day but had not realized the usefulness of strawberries, thanks!

Comment by rmr Thanks for these great tips! I've been told that I'm in great shape for a 50 year old man. It's unfortunate that I'm only 42!

Comment by desert blondie Nice hub! enjoyed the info. about HGH foods...I had always thought this "stuff" was only synthetic, didn't know about it's presence in food. Thanks!
Comment by Shirley Anderson Thx, Robie. You're right about the mental attitude and its connection to youthfulness. I believe it to be very important.Re the HGH supplements, I read both schools of thought - that it is bad and that it is good - what I came up with is that the pure, concentrated are much better and offer little in the way of side effects. The synthetics are the worst culprits. Personally, I feel safer trying it via food. Though they say that you have to eat large amounts from each of the 3 amino acid groups, I think any amount you eat is going to be beneficial, and totally without side effects. I'm not opposed to trying the pure supplement, but I'd like to try the safest method first. Not only that, I'm lazy and hate shopping....I'd have to go to a store to make the purchase of a supplement.Thx for your comment!
Comment by Shirley Anderson LDSNana - Actually, I think that's a very good to put it....do whatever works for you. Doesn't matter what it is. Thx for mentioning that.Marg07 - if I knew how to stop chocolate cravings, I'd be rich! :) I'm particularily fond of milk and white chocolate, but I'm lucky because I only get about one craving every 5 years. But when I do, look out! If your cravings are only occassional, does it really matter?
Comment by robie2 Good job, Shirley. If there is a fountain of youth, it is exercise. It sure has helped me....And mental attitude is just as important. I would be careful re HGH--there are some potentially really dangerous side effects it seems. Like they say, getting old isn't so bad when you consider the alternative :-)
Comment by marg07 Good hub thank you.Do you have the secret to stopping chocolate cravings though???I guess in moderation ok, but I always find it hard to stop!!
Comment by LdsNana-AskMormon Shirley -Thanks for this practical advice, which is tried and true. Too many out here are promoting wishes. No time to waste.... do what works:-)tDMgLdsNana-AskMormon
