Indoor Rock Climbing
Travel Meetups > The Travel & Outdoors Social Club Due to popular demand . . . I am pleased to announce the addition of a 2nd rock climbing adventure! :) SORRY - I had to reschedule this one up one week due to other travel. If you already paid and can't make the rescheduled date then please let us know and we'll refund your moola right away. Please note that your payment, not your RSVP, holds your spot for this event! The venue will be at the North Summit Climbing Gym in Wind Gap, just off Rt. 33 & 512. We are starting the meetup time at 7:00 PM so everyone can get a harness fitted and read/sign the waiver form. You may obtain a copy of the waiver form in advance off their website at http://www.northsummi... - you can print, sign, and bring along. The cost includes the harness rental, payable via paypal above. This is for 2 1/4 hours of climbing. Climbing will start by 7:30. We'll be doing top rope climbing and you can also enjoy bouldering. We already have two belayer volunteers (Thanks Cody!). More info will be forthcoming. This adventure is a prelude to a probable outdoor climb sometime this fall too. So let me know if you think you're interested. Maybe the Adirondacks? Also, if you would like to learn how to belay we will teach you the ropes. ;) The more certified belayers we have the larger the group we can accommodate at one time. Please let me know if you are interested in learning. During the winter we can meetup on weekend afternoons to climb. Right now it's nice outside for hiking and such! :) We could use some photos of the event so feel free to bring along your camera. Orienteering - Map, Compass, Thrills (Free Entry and Picnic)
Travel Meetups > Sky's the Limit Travel & Social Club Well if you missed the first one come on out to National Orienteering Day! Free Entry and Picnic. So just pay $2.00 for your E-Punch Card. Get some exercise, be in the outdoors and meet new people! Everyone is welcome! What is Orienteering? In simple terms, Orienteering is like a scavenger hunt where you're given a list of clues to find land features and objects that are circled on a map. THE BASICS The goal of Orienteering is to find all of the check points -- called controls -- in numerical order as quickly as possible. Each control is identified with a control bag, a code, and a paper punch, which is used to verify your visit to the location. In order to orienteer, you'll need three things, which you will get when you register:
- Orienteering map
Orienteering maps are detailed topographical maps made by our club mappers especially for our meets. When you register at our meets, we'll give you a clean fresh map. Sometimes the course will already be printed on the map, as in the following example, but other times, you'll have to copy your course from a master map located in the registration area. - Control description
Control descriptions tell you where your check points -- controls -- are located. We typically use the international standard, which are the strange looking symbols, but we always write out the symbol description for beginners. (Hint: the symbols are described on the back of your punch card.) - Punch card
Punch Card This is what you'll use to verify that you've visited the correct location. Notice that the participant has written the control description in each punch box. This simplifies things when your out in the woods. When you arrive at a check point, you'll check the code on the clue to make sure it's the right one you're looking for. Then you'll use the paper punch hanging on the control to mark the correct square on your punch card.

SHARKWATER Exhibition at the International Game Fishing Hall Of Fame
Travel Meetups > Tri-County Travel and Adventure The IGFA Journeys Theatre is hosting the award-winning documentary Sharkwater. Sharkwater is filmed in visually stunning, high definition video. Filmmaker, Rob Stewart takes viewers into the most shark-rich waters of the world, exposing the exploitation and corruption surrounding the world's shark populations in the marine reserves of Cocos Island, Costa Rica and Galapagos Islands. Sharkwater began as an underwater adventure but turned into a beautiful and dangerous journey into the balance of life on earth. Driven by passion fed from a lifelong fascination with sharks, Stewart debunks historical stereotypes and media depictions of sharks as bloodthirsty, man-eating monsters, and reveals the reality of sharks as pillars in the evolution of the seas. In an effort to protect sharks, Stewart teams up with renegade conservationist Paul Watson of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Their unbelievable adventure starts with a battle between the Sea Shepherd and shark poachers in Guatemala, resulting in pirate boat rammings, gunboat chases, mafia espionage, corrupt court systems and attempted murder charges, that force them to flee for their lives. Through it all, Stewart discovers how these magnificent creatures have gone from predator to prey, and how despite surviving the earth's history of mass extinctions, they could easily be wiped out within a few years due to human greed. Stewart's remarkable journey of courage and determination changes from a mission to save the world's sharks into a fight for his life, and that of humankind. There is a $6.00 charge to enter the Hall of Fame Dania Beach, FL 33004 - USA Saturday, September 6 at 1:30 PM Attending: 6 Details: http://travel.meetup.com/615/calendar/8510172/

Ladies, this is for the Marilyn Monroe in all of Us!
Travel Meetups > Sky's the Limit Travel & Social Club Ever wanted to have a professional photo shoot like on Top Model? Here is your chance! We will have a day of glam as we have our hair and make-up done by professional Make-up Artist and Hairstylist Mary Johnson. We will then transform ourselves into Movie Stars, Bathing Beauties, Military Misses...or whomever you desire to be! After we are dolled up we will have professional photographer Moye Colquitt take our photos (individually and as a group). We have 12 spaces open for the pin-up babes of Sky's The Limit Club! If anyone is interested I can also get calendars printed up (for us to keep of our photos) So which month will you be? Price includes: Hair and Make-up, Photography, All High Resolution Images burned on individual CD's and released to each model, Wine and Snacks. $232 Per Person / $100 Deposit due by August 16th. First Women to pay get the 12 spots. Well I just met with the Make-up Artist & Photographer at the studio, and they have great vintage furniture, props and clothing... I looked at the photography and it's going to be amazing. They will even do some photoshop corrections to some of our favorite shots, to make sure we look perfect. This for for women all shapes and sizes. Everyone will walk away with a disk of probably 50+ shots of yourself and the group. A few things that they wanted me to tell you. You can have a look in mind or pick something the day of the shoot. If you have something in mind let me know beforehand so I can let them know. VERY IMPORTANT - You must bring your own Fake Eyelashes (not the crazy Halloween ones) But sexy, long thick ones. Also bring your own foundation. If you want any special props or photos in your picture feel free to bring these. They will provide wine, but if you want to bring other drinks like Martini's you are welcome to do so. We will stagger the times for everyone to get there so people aren't waiting forever to get your hair and make-up done. They have several Corsets to choose from but they recommend if you want something in particular as far as lingerie that you bring that with you, and stockings, panties (Good ones would be large hole fish-nets, High-waisted panties, thigh-highs, panty hose with seams). Think pin-up era and you can Google it to get ideas. Of course you do not have to wear lingerie, there are many other looks, but if you do that is what they recommend. They have some photos on their Myspace page to check out, but I don't think it does them enough justice as what I saw in the studio. Let me know if you have any questions! Please get your deposits in ASAP. Headstrong Studio Pin-Up Babes: 1. Carmen - January 5:30pm 2.Tracy - Feb. (Paid) 3:00pm 3.
